Profile:
I'm Chris Worden, the Managing Director at 1st Business Rescue. I help UK directors navigate the complex world of UK corporate insolvency. My company offers free and independent advice to UK directors and helps advise them about what options may be available if their limited company starts to struggle.
I am passionate about helping other directors overcome their business challenges and get back on their feet, as I was once in the same position as them. I have a business that had become insolvent, and the advice out there was confusing and overwhelming. When I went out speaking to insolvency professionals, there were so many conflicting opinions about my situation, and I just didn’t feel anyone was explaining things to me in an easy-to-understand manner. I was confused, overwhelmed and scared.
My own limited company going into insolvency was a difficult experience to deal with, but it taught me a lot about the process and how it impacts people's lives.

Insolvency can be fraught with many pitfalls and dangers that can lead to very serious personal consequences for the director, and there was nobody advising and warning directors about these problems. Most directors get into trouble and face personal liability once they place their company into liquidation because they don’t know what questions to ask or areas to check before they appoint the insolvency practitioner. I am committed to helping UK directors avoid these pitfalls and problems and advising them of the different options they face and the possible consequences for them personally should they go down the insolvency route.
I have over 7 years of experience supporting UK directors in financial distress, and my colleague has worked in the industry for over 20 years. I am proud to say that we are one of the only 5-star corporate insolvency companies on Trustpilot with hundreds of 5-star reviews, and we publish videos weekly on our YouTube channel. Our videos are designed to educate UK directors about insolvency and debt advice. Check out our channel here: www.youtube.com/c/1stBusinessRescue/videos
I have 3 young children at home (all girls), so in my spare time, I like to be at home spending time with them and my partner.

A breath of fresh air!
“Chris at 1st business rescue is like a breath of fresh air....when you're drowning! I got in what felt like a impossible unmanageable situation due to COVID etc. I accrued nearly £40k personal debt, and a large sum owed to HMRC and an overdrawn directors loan account. Chris has been an absolute godsend for my mental state. I was really panicking and stressed and felt under so much pressure. Chris has given me the best advice of all the people I've spoken to about this. He has been totally understanding of my position and made some brilliant suggestions. All this and it hasn't even cost me a penny. He's given so much free advice that has helped in such a big way. Thank you Chris, your guidance has been priceless. If your worried about debt/liquidation etc. Please speak to Chris!!”

After my business getting into a lot of…
“After accruing a lot of business debt over the last few years, my attempts to catch up just weren’t working, business was slow and I didn’t see any way out. I spent the best part of 2 years stressed and not knowing what on earth I was going to do. Having spoken to liquidators in the past, it just wasn’t something I felt I could do without the fear of losing my house. By some stroke of luck, I found 1st Business Rescue. Spoke to Shane, and then Chris. My mind was instantly put at ease after initial chats, and I realised I had a way out of the mess. Everything has gone so smoothly and my company is now in liquidation. I couldn’t be more grateful for the care I received - I know it’s a service but I really felt Chris personally cared about me and my situation and he did everything he could to alleviate worries and make everything seamfree. Thank you so much.”

Amazing Team that delivers
“I contacted 1st Business Rescue and I was incredibly lucky to have come across Chris and his team of extraordinary human caring professionals who advised me so clearly on how to best deal with my company issues after having lost 75% revenue due to Brexit. Having been in business a lifetime and suddenly having to deal with the unknown, the prospects of closure and the responsibilities involved as a responsible Director simply kept me awake night after night.
Once I chose 1st Business Rescue the whole thing was transparent, fair and straight forward. I instantly knew they were the ones after the first meeting.
All I can say is if anyone is in such position and is unsure who to engage please do not hesitate with this company. I count my lucky starts on this one. Thank you so much Chris, Justin and your incredible hard working team for making the whole process relatively easy and manageable under such stressful circumstances. 10/10.”

The director Chris of 1st Business…
“The director Chris of 1st Business Rescue, completely “rescued me”. After suffering with health issues, covid duration and loss of earning. I honestly felt lost and no where to turn as I had taken a BBL. Chris was totally patient with me & helped me with claiming redundancy, closing my company. He connected me with reputable liquidator & after 1year my company is now closed legally. Chris always returned my calls and helped explain all these complicated matters of legal requirements. I cannot recommend this company high enough enough.”
